Might not be easy to see from the picture but the entire right side of Kyle’s face is swollen due to an infected jaw from a tooth.
He went to the dentist and they think the root of a tooth is dying/decaying and gave him some antibiotics, but advised he tooth is too damaged to be pulled and recommended an out-of-network endodontist that want $1,100 upfront before treatment. Yeah, right, left me just get out my spare change jar.
At least our dentist was able to prescribe an antibiotic and he was able to get it filled at Meijer for no charge.
I was only made aware yesterday after reading an article online that some groceries fill antibiotic prescriptions for free and I checked the list online at Meijer and thankfully the prescription he had turned out be be at no cost.
The list is limited and subject to change, but currently for Amoxicillin, Cephalexin, SMZ-TMP, Ciprofloxacin, Ampicillin, Penicillin VK. It is limited to Maximum 14 day supply at normal oral dosages and does not include extended release formulations. Some of these are on Walmart’s or Kroger’s $4 prescription lists if you don’t have a Meijer in your area.
They also fill five of the major brands of prenatal vitamins prescriptions at no charge for pregnant women so is something to check with the pharmacist and your physician if you are expecting or know someone that is.
