Glofish are genetically modified fluorescent fish.  The above I found on sale at Meijer’s for 25% off their usual $6.99 price, making them $5.25.

GloFish are available in six colors:
Starfire Red®
Cosmic Blue®
Electric Green®
Galactic Purple®
Sunburst Orange®
Moonrise Pink™

I thought about buying one but although they just swim in a bowl they are somewhat high maintenance, but are calming to watch.

Growing up my Mom kept a large aquarium full of fish that were fascinating to watch and I still like to stop by and look at fish some times if they are at the store and probably why I have a hatred of eating fish.

You can’t just use tap water as they need the right ph balance in their water, you need to change their water often and have to be careful that the water you put in the bowl is the same temperature as what they have lived in otherwise it could shop their system and they could die.

You have to be careful not to overfeed them as they will overeat or it will settle to the bottom and pollute the tank.   You can easily forget to feed them because unlike a cat or dog, they can’t make a noise to tell you they are hungry.

You need to be sure they get adequate lighting, but not leave it on all the time.   You have to be careful adding a new fish if you have one already because like any pet, they might not like their new playmate.
