Up until the mid-80’s soda pop was sold in glass, not plastic bottles.  Back in the late 70’s the “stretched soda bottle” was a popular form of junk art and a prevalent prize at county and State fairs, especially on the ring toss games as they set up in rows to try to toss over the top to win one.  They were made by using a torch heat the glass then stretch in out.

This is at my friend Sherryl’s house next to two of her amazing paintings; despite being legally blind she is a very talented artist.
