When I was a teen and would visit my Grandma Smith, who lived nearby, we would all sit at the kitchen table to chat and she always had some sort of roll, muffin or biscuit out along with her “special” butter.

When she shared the recipe I was surprised it was so simple just two ingredients.

Grandma Smiths Butter Spread

1 8 oz package cream cheese
1 stick butter (or margarine, but better with butter)

Leave both of the above out on a plate for few hours. Once softened, cream both together in a bowl with a mixer then store in a airtight container (above I spooned into silicone baking cups for individual servings).

You can jazz it up by adding a teaspoon or two of your favorite herb(s) or spices and slather it on rolls or even top vegetables for a different flavor.
