Our original plan to watch the fireworks was the usual spot in Target’s parking lot near Glenbrook Mall, but by the time we got there (after 10pm) all of the good vantage spots were taken and what was left was blocked by big, ugly, billboards so we decided to brave going downtown to see if we could find a spot despite the chaos of traffic we knew we would encounter.

We were driving toward downtown near Science Central when Marv hopped the curb on the right where Omni Source scrap yard used to be which is now a vacant lot although there was already a sea of cars like what you would see at a drive-in movie, he did find a decent spot near the curb for a quick out but with a clear view of the spectacular fireworks exhibition that although brief, was spectacular.
