At lunch today around 1ish there had been a news report of a young man killed in an accident involving a motorcycle hitting a box truck and a gas tank exploding, but didn’t find out until Kyle came home it was one of his friends, Chris Burcham.

I only met Chris briefly once, but from what I heard he was a little on the wild side, a bit of a prankster; devious without being mean spirited, yet very charming and charismatic.

If you ride a motorcycle I think you need to have a proper respect for it and wear boots, jeans or heavy pants, riding jacket and helmet; otherwise, you have no protection in the event  of a crash.  I know it isn’t as much fun and feels confining and when I was young and stupid and I didn’t wear any protection when I rode on the back of one with Marv, but have to praise the Lord for keeping me safe during those foolish years.

Sometimes, no matter what you do the result would have been the same, but can’t help but feel was avoidable, but then again hindsight is always 20/20.   Can only pray that he is with the good Lord now.

(The RIP gravestone  tchotchke I picked up at the Dollar Tree around Halloween a few years back).
