I picked this up on behalf of Kyle for his friend Cyler’s 1 year old son Roman.  It was on sale at Kohl’s for around $40 and Kyle said Shelby had recommended it and wanted an outdoor toy.

When Kyle was little he loved playing in the water area at Science Central, a local science museum and this looks like it would be a fun toy.   Also, it is hard to find fun toys for kids under 3 years and this one is recommended for ages 1 and above, although I would think it would probably be more like 1 1/2 as would be better for a child that is walking and more stable on their feet.  Obviously, since water is involved, close supervision would be required.

It appears to be the right size for a toddlers and has two  different compartments that are connected on one like a canal.

Also, at home I bought Kyle a contraption  that was similar to the tower where you pour water and and the wheel spins and he played with it in the bathtub (an early introduction to the gears he has come to love in cars) and the contraption pops out of the table so they could use that portion in the bathtub as until Summer rolls around.   It also has the pouring cup and 2 sailboats that could be used in a bathtub as well.

It does hold 4 gallons of water and I would recommend emptying after each use for safety purposes, but in the Summer would not be wasteful as it could be put on the lawn instead of running a sprinkler.
