In driving to Cathie’s house to have dinner with friends after work I spotted this on what was the former Casa D’Angelo’s Italian restaurant that closed in 2011.

I was curious about what it was now by the colorful graffiti art outside and found it is now a non-profit art company called Wunderkammer Company.   Their mission statement is:  “To revitalize communities through contemporary art”.

From an article by Jaclyn Youhana in the “The Journal Gazette”

“The gallery isn’t a traditional one, and he aims to showcase more modern art that, admittedly, isn’t always accessible to the masses. It’s not bowls of oranges or setting suns, but maybe a moveable sculpture with graffiti markings that show where people defiled it while it had been on public display.

The graffiti, however, is the point. The exhibit is meant to allow people to interact with art.”

I am now curious as to what the inside looks like and plan to check it out some time.

Location:  3402 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne, IN

Hours: 1pm-9pm, Wednesday-Sunday
