Chili’s 2 for $20 with Appetizer – Moderately Priced Dinner for Two

This was our dinner at our local Chili’s restaurant off of the “$20 Dinner for 2” with free appetizer. They have 13 different options for the dinner selection and five different appetizers.

We went with Spiced Panko Onion Rings for the appetizer. They were hot and crispy and had a good flavor, but they were served with a ranch-type dip and usually they are served with more of a Thousand Island dressing/dip other places, which think would have been better.

The presentation of the toppings for the Carnita’s was unique and artistic, being served in the little cups instead of on the side of the plate. I initially concerned their might not be enough of some ingredients to balance out the flavor of the entire dish, but it turned out there was. There was a lot more meat and grilled peppers and onions than I expected and I has a lot left even after filling up the four tortillas it came with, but I put all of the leftover topping on top of it and ate it and it was delicious.

My guest had the Bacon Cheeseburger which was juicy and flavorful with gooey melted cheese topped with crispy bacon with a side of well seasoned french fries, although one or two of them looked a little on two overdone side.

The food was good and a great deal an we will dine there again in the future.
