Flooding – St. Mary’s River near downtown off of Sherman Street

The river usually crests below the tree line on the opposite side of the trees, but with all of the rain that we have had it now is approaching an access road near the bridge (vantage point is from the access road).

As you can see above, there is major flooding in the area, although not as bad as it used to be due to measures by the City planning to try to alleviate the problem within the past 20 years to prevent flooding of major roads near the St. Mary’s River..

  1. yea, now we send it to Decatur and Portland and on to the Ohio River.
