I was awakened this morning by the sound of heavy rain and thunder and saw this when I looked outside to check on it and the yard was flooded had a few inches of standing water.

On Facebook one of my friends posted that we received another 2.75 inches of rain this morning.   Others posted of downed trees and patio furniture tossed around the yard.   It was around this time in 2012 that we had the derecho that knocked out most of the power in the tri-state area, and wonder if we had a less severe one today.

  1. my front yard is full of tree branches and a friend of mine to the west of Fox and Fox saw his car port lift up and then flew over the rail road bridge that spans the St. mary’s river by Main Street
