Horton Model 22 Washing Machine, circa 1900
If you have ever dreaded the hassle washing clothes, have a gander of this early model of a washing machine and you will be a little more grateful that all you have to do is put the laundry in the machine and try to catch the rinse cycle.
Even before you started to wash in this machine, you would have to heat up the water and pour it in, drain it, then add more water to rinse the clothing. To wring out the clothing, you would have to feed each item of clothing through the hand crank individually.
