Carole Lombard  was the original “blonde bombshell” and the highest paid actress of the 1930’s because of her talent in screwball comedies, but before moving with her mother to become a star, was born (in the era before women went to the hospital do deliver children a several decades later) in the above house from the time she was born in 1908 until she was 6 years old in Fort Wayne, Indiana and the above is known as the “Lombard House” in local tours.

She was married to William Holden and Clark Gable, both who were popular actors of the era.   After World War 2 began, seh returned to Indiana to raise money for war bonds and raised $2 million in one evening, but sadly on 1/16 1942 she was killed when the plane she was returning home to LA crashed and she was killed at the age of 33.

I one inside it once on the first floor as a friend lived next door at one time and it seems to have been divided up into apartments, but in checking online today it now appears to be a licensed bed and breakfast place:   http://carolelombardhouse.com/
